February 6, 2021 Update
Divided into three small ensembles, the string sections of Lee County Community Orchestra (violin, viola, cello, bass)  will rehearse on Tuesday evenings, beginning February 9, at Sanford Contractors, 628 Rocky Fork Church Road.  Each group is assigned to a specific time slot between 6:30 and 9:00.  The masked and socially distanced musicians will rehearse pieces chosen by interim conductor Vincent Povázsay.  For more information contact rseaman@windstream.net or kfiddler100@yahoo.com.
The LCCO is a volunteer ensemble including a full complement  of orchestral woodwinds, brass, percussion, and strings.  While the majority of the repertoire involves full orchestral forces, some repertoire may be for chamber combinations where auxiliary instruments (such as piccolo, English horn, and bass clarinet) and doublings (often used for non-principal parts) may not be employed.   Most members, however, can anticipate participating in all concerts throughout the season.
If you would like to play with LCCO, please contact Reinette S. Stephenson, rseaman@windstream.net.    All LCCO musicians are expected to attend all rehearsals, concerts, and dress rehearsals for the duration of the season.  (Dress rehearsals always occur on the Friday evening before a performance weekend.)  Music folders are distributed at the first rehearsal for each set of concerts and must be returned at the conclusion of the concert weekend.  LCCO will accept new members mid-season only if there is need.

Pre-college Student Policy

All LCCO musicians are expected to attend all rehearsals, concerts, and dress rehearsals.   Students must be aware that the majority of LCCO's repertoire is grade level 6+.  In order to participate in concerts, pre-college students cannot miss more than two rehearsals leading into each set of concerts and must return all music immediately at the end of each concert weekend.  Pre-college students will not be allowed to perform in a concert or may be excused from the rest of the season if they have missed more than two rehearsals (unless there are extenuating circumstances discussed with the music director) or have not returned music from a previous concert.  The music director reserves the right to audition new pre-college members.
