Want to play with us?
The LCCO is always looking to fill vacancies. Most often, we are searching for violinists because the orchestra needs more strings than any other type of instrument.
But, all instrumentalists in the eighth grade or older are invited to participate in rehearsals and concerts.
If you are interested in the LCCO, please CONTACT us.
The first full-group rehearsal of 2021 is scheduled for Tuesday, August 24, 6:30 pm in the practice hall of the Fine Arts Building at Lee County HS.
Normally, rehearsals are most Tuesdays from 6:30-9:00 p.m. in the practice hall of the Fine Arts Building at Lee County High School.

Playing in the Orchestra
All LCCO musicians are expected to attend all rehearsals, concerts, and dress rehearsals for the duration of the season.
Dress rehearsals always occur on the Friday evening before a performance weekend. Music folders are distributed at the first rehearsal for each set of concerts and must be returned at the conclusion of the concert weekend.
The LCCO includes a full complement of orchestral woodwinds, brass, percussion, and strings. While the majority of the repertoire involves full orchestral forces, some repertoire may be for chamber combinations where auxiliary instruments (such as piccolo, English horn, and bass clarinet) and doublings (often used for non-principal parts) may not be employed. Most members, however, can anticipate participating in all concerts throughout the season.
Expectations of Student Musicians
Students must be aware that the majority of LCCO's repertoire is grade level 6+. In order to participate in concerts, pre-college students cannot miss more than two rehearsals leading into each set of concerts and must return all music immediately at the end of each concert weekend.
Pre-college students will not be allowed to perform in a concert or may be excused from the rest of the season if they have missed more than two rehearsals (unless there are
extenuating circumstances discussed with the
music director) or have not returned music from a
previous concert. The music director reserves the
right to audition new pre-college members.
