Rubio Receives LCCO Music Merit Award

Updated: May 25, 2022

Violinist Emily Rubio received LCCO's Music Merit Award at the season's final set of concerts in May.

Congratulations to Emily Rubio, the recipient of our 2022 LCCO Music Merit Award. Rubio has been a dedicated member of LCCO's second violin section since 2018.

We are glad she will continue to play with the orchestra until December when she completes the second stage of her Lee Early College graduation. Lee Early College graduates leave with a high school diploma and an associate degree. Rubio plans to attend Appalachian State as a history major and wants to be a teacher.

LCCO is thrilled to welcome student musicians in the eighth grade and older. Students should be aware that the majority of LCCO's repertoire is grade 6+. Email lccorch@gmail.com if you are interested in being a part of the orchestra!
